The Shanghai Gesture
British financier Sir Guy Charteris has a daughter, Poppy (Gene Tierney), who spends too much time at a Shanghai casino engaged in gambling, drinking, and perhaps other dark habits as well. The casino where she plays is slated to be closed down by her father, but the proprietor, Mother Gin Sling, possesses a secret involving the three of them that could prevent that from happening.
